Stan Timmins and Sons offer specialist tree pollarding and trimming services to residential and commercial customers alike. Our team of experienced professionals can handle any size project with ease!
There is an art form behind this ancient procedure, the skillful handling and manipulation needed for a successful outcome demands patience as well as precision, but most importantly – care must be taken not only during each step in the process but also at points where branches meet the trunk of the tree so that damage caused by sawing will be minimal.
What is Tree Pollarding
Tree pollarding is an ancient practice that has been used for centuries to protect young trees in the forest from being browsed by animals.
The process of tree-pollarding starts when all branches and most limbs have been removed so only the trunk remains with the basic framework made up mostly major tree limbs.
This way once a newly planted seed or sapling grows into something more sturdy these largest supporting structures can help support its weight until enough strength returns on its own accord without anyone having touched it during this crucial time period between regrowth periods which lasts about 3 years before repeating again!
